Kayla (she/her) is a queer tattoo artist currently working on Treaty 6 territory in Edmonton, Alberta. Tattooing since 2019, she is currently at Invictus Arts and is Bloodborne Pathogens certified by the Red Cross.
Kayla graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and specializes in free handed botanical designs and abstract blackwork.
A multi-faceted artist, Kayla explores themes of growth and rebirth, soft and bold, using subject matter such as animal skulls and bones with blooming plant life, with works varying from bold black linework to soft, delicate full colour flora, Kayla enjoys using a variety of techniques. She is particularly influenced by scientific botanical illustrations, medieval woodcuts, American Traditional and free flowing, abstract shapes.
